The Grants and Publications Specialist will assist multiple therapeutic teams and vendors with the management of Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS) and publications throughout all stages of development and signoff.



  • Assist with day-to-day activities related to the publication development process
  • Acts as a key contact point for publication activities for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the team with database entry (e.g. PubsHub PMSolution, Datavision) 
  • Accurately track ongoing publications
  • Coordinate and prepare publications for internal review and signoff
  • Drives the execution and reporting of publication plan activities
  • Manage all IIS grant requests with cross-functional teams (e.g., developing novel study site engagements that may be unique to an institution, agreements, using judgment to determine drug supply by considering both study length and drug expiry dates).
  • Monitor and assess all financial payments including invoices, contractual milestones, and forecasting of future payments and the impact on overall budget.
  • Archive IIS documents as per records retention policy.
  • Familiarity with Sunshine Act reporting
  • Drives the development and update of publication strategies and publication plans for each therapeutic area in alignment with medical strategies and plans
  • Work closely with the team to ensure understanding of needs and expectations
  • Manage, track and report publication budget and vendor deliverables
  • Thorough knowledge of external publication guidelines, SOPs; Understands and revises procedures to conform to guidelines and legislation that may impact publications. Educates others as needed.


  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA)
  • 2-5 years of experience in medical communications with a role in program or project management
  • Knowledge of publication tracking/management programs (e.g. Datavision, PubsHub)
  • Certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) accreditation preferred
  • Awareness of pharmaceutical business practices
  • In‑depth knowledge of external publication guidelines and standards
  • Experience working within a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and schedule tasks to meet tight deadlines 
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
