Overview

Bausch + Lomb, an American company founded in Rochester, New York, is one of the world's largest suppliers of eye health products, including contact lenses, lens care products, medicines and implants for eye diseases

 

This position will support the US Surgical Business and is responsible for managing the development and execution of brand-related social media and communications programs and processes. This role will lead the planning and execution of communications activities and works closely with brand teams/managers to align with business objectives and goals. This individual is responsible for working with the PR team on developing and executing  the public relations strategy. This individual will develop and execute strategic communications programs targeted at healthcare professional, patients and other key stakeholders, and also collaborate with the PR product communications lead at Valeant to develop and execute strategic communications programs that strengthen the Bausch + Lomb Brand equity.

 

Responsibilities

Develops and leads Marketing and Professional Communications strategy, development and execution, focusing on marketing collateral, presentations, publications, newsletters, field communications and social media outlets leveraging clinical data, regulatory approvals, new product launches, etc.

  • Develops and executes a cohesive communications strategy that supports key business objectives at key congresses in coordination with business unit counterparts as well as business unit leaders
  • Helps to align and leverage the communications efforts (i.e. combined product news at congresses, social media, etc.)
  • Conducts outreach to mainstream professional trade media, helping build relationships in order to drive positive coverage of brands and business
  • Serves as the businesses’ primary point of contact for media
  • Provides ongoing communications support in a variety of capacities, including fielding media inquiries, supporting partnership programs with key customers and creating and maintaining various editorial content
  • Manages consumer-facing social media properties (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, EyeTube etc.)

o Core responsibilities include oversight of content development and execution on behalf of product and corporate branding promotions and industry awareness campaigns

o Oversees product brand and industry awareness content creation as well as coordination of monthly platform results, and monitoring and responding to online inquiries and conversations

  • Provides oversight for external agencies (PR and social)

Qualifications

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public relations, investor relations, communications, marketing, public affairs and/or journalism.

  • Successful project management skills and history of driving projects to completion in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, a related field, or equivalent
  • Creative and strong communication and inter-personal skills and a positive attitude
  • Excellent written communication skills developing releases, fact sheets, messaging, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment while managing multiple assignments
  • Self-initiative to follow-through and complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and perform detailed work
  • Ability to interact with executive management and their assistants
  • Ability to manage large or small cross-functional teams of people and make sound, strategic decisions and recommendations.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and maintain excellent organizational skills.
  • Up to 25% travel required
