Overview

This position is responsible for sourcing, contracting, and managing assigned external manufacturing operations (EMO) suppliers with a yearly budget responsibility of around $100-115 million and around 30-35 strategic accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage US assigned EMO accounts to improve on cost, quality and service according to business expectations.
  • Define and implement yearly savings on US targets linked to assigned suppliers.
  • Define and implement short and long term savings pipelines through Strategic Sourcing Initiatives (SSI).
  • Develop links with site procurement teams to find regional synergies and unlock supplier/product value.
  • Build leverage and develop regional sourcing strategies with key US and global suppliers.
  • Building and maintain a network of EMOs maximizing value from relationships.
  • Identify potential new Business Development & Licensing deals.
  • Screen product base and design re-sourcing strategies (i.e. insourcing, transfer) aiming at optimizing Valeant’s third party supplier network.
  • Implement SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) for assigned accounts.
  • Business Intelligence support in terms of market screening, benchmarking and industry knowledge.
  • Support the Global External Manufacturing (GEM) Procurement new strategy and methodology.
  • Identify and develop stakeholder relationships, expanding the integration of Procurement within GEM on a global scope.
  • Build and maintain US wide spend visibility through SSI savings tracker and other reporting tools in use or to be developed.
  • Negotiate supply contracts and monitor performance against contractual commitments during contract life cycle and beyond.
  • Develop and manage the RFI/RFP process as part of the negotiation cycle.
  • Identify, Implement, and track cost savings projects in cooperation with the site stakeholders, site controllers and regional finance.
  • Coordinates supplier implementation and follow ups with site buyers / stakeholders.
  • Comply with Quality Policies for vendor evaluation, selection and approval.

Driving compliance of procurement processes, procedures and best practice initiatives.

Qualifications

  • BA or equivalent work experience.
  • Certification in Procurement would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Negotiation & analytical skills.
  • Understanding of the Pharmaceutical/medical device industry.
  • 8 years Global External Manufacturing / Procurement experience in an international environment.
  • Experience in manufacturing processes Pharma healthcare industry
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship development & management skills
  • Familiar with spend visibility and reporting tools
  • General knowledge of legal and regulatory processes
  • Hands on mentality and entrepreneurial thinking
  • MS Excel advanced user: able to generate complex analytical reports
  • Experienced in Supplier Relationship Management from supplier implementation to Supplier Performance Monitoring and Supplier Concern resolution
  • Have the ability to lead a project in a multicultural environment.
